AAO-HNS 2023 Workforce and Socioeconomic Survey

Andrew J. Tompkins, MD, MBA, is the Chair of the AAO-HNS Workforce Survey Task Force. According to him, "Our specialty delivered a home run with participation in our inaugural 2022 Workforce Survey. Our 2023 survey is now released and has been sent to all qualifying Academy members via email. If you haven’t completed it yet, it only takes 10 minutes to do so. With more robust data, we can more accurately describe our workforce for students and trainees and look for patient care and advocacy opportunities."

The survey is open to Academy members who are U.S. practicing physicians, retired, fellows, or residents. For those qualified and who have not yet taken the survey, an email was sent on Monday, October 16, providing you access to the survey. Please check your inbox for an email from AAO-HNS. If you cannot find the email in your inbox, please check your spam folder or contact healthpolicy@entnet.org.

The information gathered from year two of the survey will be used to inform discussion in the critical areas of the future evolution of otolaryngology training, team-based care strategies, practice design, and advocacy. Survey results will be aggregated and kept anonymous—any information provided will be maintained by the Academy alone and will not be divulged to any third party. 

The survey is set to close on November 10, so take it today to make sure your feedback is incorporated in providing vital information needed to promote and advance the specialty.
