Year-end SGR Negotiations: Stay Informed
With only weeks left in 2013, federal lawmakers must begin negotiating a final “must-pass” legislative package, in what has become an annual (and despised) tradition. Since lawmakers are unable to advance legislation this year to permanently repeal the flawed Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) payment formula, Congress must include in their year-end package a “patch” to halt the 24.4 percent cut to Medicare physician payments scheduled for January 1, 2014.
