2011 Humanitarian Travel Grants
Thanks to generous support from the Alcon Foundation, the following residents each received grants of $1,000 toward medical missions from January through June 2011. For more than 10 years, the Humanitarian Efforts Committee has selected senior residents for travel grants to accompany mission teams. Although the $1,000 grants cannot cover all travel costs, they are a stimulus to the residents, who return profoundly changed by their encounters. Overwhelmingly, they commit themselves to continuing to volunteer for missions. The awardees will be recognized at the annual meeting in September in San Francisco. David J.
