2026 Ggr Modern Rhinoplastry 1500x845 V3

The AAO-HNSF Global Grand Rounds series is an initiative of the Academy's International Advisory Board (IAB) to improve patient care and physician education around the globe. Events are held quarterly and are open to all, free of charge. Each session includes thought leaders and expert panel presentations followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions. On May 9, the Global Grand Rounds (GGR) series presents Global Perspectives in Modern Rhinoplasty in collaboration with the Pan-American Association of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

"Global Grand Rounds allows us to collaborate with other national and regional societies to connect experts in the specialty with any physician seeking further education, regardless of geography, which furthers our collective goal of improving otolaryngology patient care worldwide," said Maria V. Suurna, MD, professor and director of sleep surgery at the University of Miami Health System and AAO-HNSF International Coordinator.

Attendees of the Global Perspectives in Modern Rhinoplasty webinar can expect to gain valuable insights into the latest advancements in rhinoplasty techniques to achieve long-term results from four internationally recognized facial plastic surgeons:

  • Abdülkadir Göksel, MD, of RinoIstanbul Clinic, Istanbul, Türkiye
  • Umang Mehta, MD, of Mehta Plastic Surgery, Menlo Park, California, USA
  • Roxana Cobo, MD, of Clínica Imbanaco, Cali, Colombia
  • Tomas Patrocínio, MD, PhD, of Hospital UMC, Uberlândia, Brazil

Dr. Göksel, Dr. Cobo, and Dr. Patrocínio are certified by the International Board for Certification in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS), and Dr. Mehta is fellowship-trained through the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS).

These leading experts will discuss four focused topics: Blocking Points in Preservation Rhinoplasty; Consistency in Tip Rhinoplasty; Hybrid Rhinoplasty: Combination of Preservation and Structural Techniques to Obtain Consistent Long-Term Results; and Composite Tip: A Five-Step Concept for Tip Design. The panel will be moderated by David Phillips, MD, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, and Pamela Lazo, MD, Hospital Español/Hospital Ángeles, Mexico City, Mexico, followed by a live audience Q&A.

Partnering with the Pan-American Association of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery strengthens the exchange of global perspectives and diverse knowledge from otolaryngologists across the Americas, while enriching the learning experience for participants worldwide. "This collaboration elevates the quality of education, enhances the sharing of knowledge, and ultimately supports better patient care on a global scale," said Jacqueline Alvarado, MD, President of the Pan-American Association of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

This event will be the second webinar in the 2026 GGR series. The first webinar of the year, Novel Technologies and Treatment Strategies for Head and Neck Cancer: From Robotics to Immunotherapy, was held in February and attracted 1,101 registrants from 123 countries. If you missed it, you can view the recording here.
