How long have you been at the Academy?
I have been at the Academy since 2011.

What do you do as the Senior Manager of Member Relations?
I assist in the organization-wide strategy to deliver strong member benefits, ensuring ample engagement opportunities, and promoting access to industry subject matter experts. I collaborate with our Finance business unit to ensure that funds coming in for membership payments are disbursed properly. I support a successful membership renewal process every year, including sending reminders and addressing member concerns. I also respond to member inquiries, resolve issues, and provide support regarding membership benefits. I work hard to maintain accurate member data, including contact information, demographics, and membership status in our data management system to ensure that members receive all their benefits.

Theresa GrandbabiesWhat is something readers might be surprised to know about you?
Readers would probably be surprised to know that I am a grandmother of four beautiful spirits.

Tell us about one of your most memorable moments working for the Academy.
One of my most memorable moments working for the Academy was the International Reception at the AAO-HNSF 2012 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. It was my first Annual Meeting. It was a delight to see first-time attendees who were timid at the beginning of their first conference loosen up at the end of our conference at the International Reception. Most attendees made forever friends there.

Since I was born and raised in the downtown area of Alexandria, my favorite place is Old Town. I love walking on the cobblestones down to the waterfront, looking out over the Woodrow Wilson bridge that pulls Virginia, Maryland, and DC together.

Coffee or tea?
There is nothing like a flavorful herbal tea to relax and unwind after a long busy day.
