The Academy’s Creative Services Director, Jackie Cole, explains the meaning behind the colors and design of this year’s Annual Meeting logo. Can you spot the hidden message?
A Design Rooted in Meaning
In coming up with this year’s design, the Creative Services team sought to imbue meaning in every detail. The intertwined loops of the 2025 logo symbolize connectivity and collaboration within the otolaryngology community. The loops represent the sharing of knowledge and the exchange of ideas. Inspired by Indianapolis’s rich racing history, these loops reflect the fluidity of a racetrack and signify progress, precision, and a drive for excellence. The winged elements in the logo symbolize forward momentum and energy, representing the innovative spirit of the meeting. A unique design element of the 2025 logo is the subtle integration of the letters “OTO” woven into the shape of the loops.
The Power of Color
Color plays a big part in how the logo looks and feels. The color scheme of red, blue, and yellow for the 2025 logo reflects the following:
Red represents energy, passion, and determination—traits encouraging otolaryngologists to innovate and improve patient care.
Blue stands for trust, stability, and professionalism, showcasing the expertise and collaboration fundamental to the specialty.
Yellow symbolizes optimism, creativity, and a forward-thinking attitude, representing the innovation and possibilities featured at the meeting.
Together, these colors form a cohesive and vibrant design that visually highlights the event’s aim of connecting, inspiring, and advancing the field of otolaryngology.
Why It Matters
The 2025 Annual Meeting logo celebrates the specialty's collective energy. It blends connection, innovation, and progress while paying homage to Indianapolis, a city celebrated for its vibrant spirit and racing legacy.
