The 2018 QPP proposed rule is here. Now what?

On June 20, CMS released the 2018 proposed rule for the Quality Payment Program (QPP), which contains both Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and APM programs.

Reg EntOn June 20, CMS released the 2018 proposed rule for the Quality Payment Program (QPP), which contains both Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and APM programs. The proposed rule includes details on MIPS performance category reporting for 2018, details on upcoming virtual group participation, available exclusions, including the low-volume threshold for 2018, and APM requirements and definition. The Academy published a summary of these proposed changes, which is available at http://www.entnet.org/content/physician-payment-reform.

CMS updated the QPP website and released several resources, including a MIPS Quick Start Guide and updated fact sheets. Another way to learn about news, updates, and training opportunities for MIPS or APM participation is by subscribing to the CMS Listserv. To subscribe, visit www.qpp.cms.gov, select “Subscribe to Updates” in the footer, and enter your email address when prompted. These links are also available to members on the Academy website.
