Submission Guidelines

Article Length

We recommend articles be between 800–1,500 words, but we're flexible if your topic needs more space to be covered effectively.

Multimedia Content

Enhance your articles with high-quality images or videos when relevant. For any nonoriginal materials, please ensure you have proper permissions, and obtain consent for media featuring identifiable patients or minors. Need help with permissions or consent forms? We're here to assist! We can also help create original graphics or multimedia content depending on your needs.

Originality and Required Disclosures

For Academy-sponsored submissions: Articles submitted on behalf of an AAO-HNS/F Section, Committee, or Task Force should be reviewed by the Chair or their representative before submission.

AI tool usage: Please disclose if you used any artificial intelligence tools to develop or write any portion of your article.

Conflicts of interest: Let us know about any relevant disclosures or potential conflicts of interest when you submit.

Author responsibility: Authors are responsible for ensuring content is accurate and properly sourced.

Authorship requirements: At least one author should be an active AAO-HNS member (unless specifically invited or approved otherwise). All listed authors should have contributed substantially to the article and approve the final version before publication.

Citations and References

When referencing published research, data, or specific claims, please include in-text citations with an accompanying reference list. You don't need to cite common knowledge (like "smoking is bad for health"), but specific statistics, recommendations, or research findings should be sourced.

Editorial Process

We'll edit your article to match our house style and send you a link to review the final version before we publish it. This ensures your voice comes through while maintaining consistency across the Bulletin.

How to Submit

Email your proposals or articles to bulletin@entnet.org or reach out to your committee’s chair and staff liaison if you are interested in co-authoring an article or contributing to an ongoing series.

Let your insights inspire others and enrich the Bulletin’s content. Together, we can elevate the voice of the otolaryngology-head and neck surgery community. We look forward to hearing from you!
