The AAO-HNSF is dedicated to developing and disseminating evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in otolaryngology—a goal furthered by the Cochrane Scholars Program. The Cochrane Scholars Program offers specialized training in the methodology and techniques of conducting systematic literature reviews to selected AAO-HNS members who apply. This unique opportunity provides scholars with essential skills that strengthen their research capabilities, fostering rigorous studies that can improve patient care for individuals with otolaryngic conditions and diseases.

Funded by the AAO-HNSF leadership and the publisher of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and OTO Open, Cochrane Scholars are sponsored to attend the Guidelines International Network Annual Meeting. In return, they must submit a systematic review to one of the OTO Journals within 12 months

The 2025 Cochrane Scholars will be attending the Guidelines International Network (GIN) Annual Meeting on September 16–19, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. This year's event, with a theme of “Innovation and Parternships for Health in All Policies,” will “spotlight transformative approaches that advance health and well-being globally.”
