Interested in donating medical equipment, instruments, supplies, or textbooks? Are you or are others you know thinking about retiring and closing down your practice? Instead of clogging up landfills, you can help the needy by recycling and reusing. Below are several groups that accept medical supplies/equipment to be shipped to under-resourced facilities all around the world. Be sure to contact them or call ahead first to learn if your donated equipment or supplies are acceptable. AMRF develops and provides training programs for medical equipment repair technicians and hospital managers responsible for maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical equipment. Brother’s Brother Contact: www.brothersbrother.org Brother’s Brother prefers to deal directly with dealers and distributors for new products, although they appreciate donations of medical supplies that they receive from both groups and individuals as long as the supplies are pre-approved. Products donated provide goods that help in many projects in developing countries. Be aware of some guidelines that will ensure that your donation is accepted and used in these projects. There are two lists: equipment they covet and equipment they generally refuse. Each list contains the items on which these professionals agree. Those who have experience with medical equipment will note that there are many items not on either list.
