32 SPECIAL EDITION: 125TH ANNIVERSARY AAO-HNS BULLETIN ENTNET.ORG/BULLETIN The Rich Legacy of theAAO-HNSF International Affairs Program: Connecting the Global Otolaryngology Community The AAO-HNSF formally expanded its reach internationally with the creation of the International Affairs Program and the Coordinator of International Affairs position in 1996 at a strategic planning retreat of the AAO-HNS/F Boards of Directors. This was in response to identifying the need to create a more inclusive environment and curriculum at the AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO Experience for international colleagues. The global outreach and connection within the otolaryngology community today is a result of the passion and commitment dedicated by the leadership andmembers throughout the years. To date the AAO-HNSF has had five dedicated individuals serve in the position of Coordinator of International Affairs. For this special 125th Anniversary issue of the Bulletin , the past, current, and future Coordinators have contributed their thoughts on how the AAO-HNSF has played a role in bringing together the global otolaryngology community, providing some milestones during their terms that elevated the global connection. In addition, we asked them to look ahead to the next 50, 100, and 125 years of the AAO-HNS/F and what they foresee to be the path to a greater global connection for the otolaryngology community, keeping the momentum going for further outreach.
